Along the River During the Qingming Festival

Thanks to Victor for sharing this video of an animated digital tapestry created for the Chinese Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai. This 130-meter long, 6.3-meter high animated digital mural was created by the same company responsible for the digital scroll seen in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The inspiration for the amazing digital mural is a 9-3/4" by 17' 4" scroll painted by artist Zhang Zeduan (1085-1145) during the Song Dynasty. The mural cycles through night and day every four minutes.
